Whether he’s meeting with his team, working with one of McCoy Rockford’s valued customers, checking out market trends or digging into economic data and statistical analysis, Ken is focused on navigating the constant evolution of McCoy Rockford. As CEO and one of the primary shareholders in the company, Ken has been able to merge his love of number crunching with his background in sales leadership. And after spending 16 years with Xerox, plus another nine years with a leading Dutch manufacturer, Ken feels like he made a Double Eagle with his role at McCoy Rockford. 

If you ever find Ken’s desk empty, be sure to check the golf course. Chances are you’ll find him teeing off with a mix of customers, prospects, friends or colleagues. After all, golf is more than just a game. For Ken, it’s a way to form bonds, share conversation and experience friendly competitiveness. And the fresh air will put almost anyone in a creative and solution-oriented state of mind.

Favorite Commercial Furniture Piece: My favorite products right now are interactive technologies like the Microsoft Hub. When it comes to actual furnishings, the Steelcase Brody is the coolest product. It’s like an airline cockpit in a personal work setting. 

Where Do You See McCoy Rockford in Five Years? I see a larger footprint in Texas as we grow in different markets. I believe that we are getting better every year. We have a great culture. We have a great leadership team. I believe we deliver very worthwhile projects to our clients, we become a partner in their success and we can bring that to more clients throughout Texas.  

You’ll often find Leah enjoying an autobiography and following Formula 1 when she’s not transforming financial processes and making systems run more efficiently at McCoy Rockford. Leah’s passion and gift for working with systems extends beyond numbers. Fun fact — she is also a Texas Master Naturalist and has a touch of knowledge about local ecosystems. 

Prior to joining the team, Leah was Acting CFO for cybersecurity investment firm Cyber Badger and spent almost 15 years as Vice President of Finance at Discover Network. Leah holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Loyola University, New Orleans, and an MBA from the University of Houston. She is proud to be the first person in her family to graduate from college and served as an intern with the internationally recognized and respected organization INROADS. She began her career with Big 4 accounting firms KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and she brings broad knowledge and experience to the McCoy Rockford team.

With more than two decades of experience, Leah has established herself as an innovative, forward-thinking leader with high-level financial acumen across a broad range of areas. As CFO, Leah is responsible for managing and running the organization’s finance activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations. In her role, she is driven by the desire to take the organization to the next level of success and inspire others to reach their full potential.

Outside of the office, Leah has been known to turn up the volume on 80s and disco tunes while attending a spin class. You’ll also find her traveling with her family to places like Cozumel, London and Paris. When warm weather strikes, you’ll find her enjoying New Orleans-style snowballs and searching for the best lazy rivers. 

Favorite Commercial Furniture Piece: I love the cubby chair with the table and footstool — the Brody WorkLounge. It’s really nice because you’re focused in that space and there’s even a light if you need it. To top it off, a footrest makes it ergonomic and comfortable. This has become my go-to deep work lunch spot.

Although he’s been in the furniture business for more than twenty years, Chris got some unusual national notoriety at his college job: McDonald’s. While working there, he was chosen to be in a series of national McDonald’s commercials as part of their campaign highlighting real restaurant employees. That first job not only gave Chris an opportunity to travel and meet people at the national level in marketing and sales, it also prepared him to think creatively, multitask effectively and master the communication skills required to manage large teams. 

Interacting with clients and ensuring a positive experience has always been at the top of Chris’ priority list. From installing furniture himself in the early days of his career, to engaging with clients during the design process to capture a company’s passion, his ultimate goal is to make sure people are comfortable embracing their spaces — so their organizations can thrive.   

When he’s not juggling priorities in the Houston office, Chris heads out to the ocean to catch some waves in crystal clear waters. He has traveled to many coastlines along North America and beyond, including Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica, Hawaii and Grand Cayman. But the clear waters off Destin, Florida continue to be his favorite local spot. 

Favorite Commercial Furniture Piece: It would have to be the Steelcase Leap Chair. I was at a dealership in the early 90s when Steelcase introduced the Leap chair. It was new technology and I loved sitting in it; it was so comfortable. 

Where Do You See McCoy Rockford in Five Years? I think we’re in a position to gain significant market share and be much further ahead than we are now. I’d like to see us expanding into other markets where we can take our brand experience and our capabilities to further our reach and grow our organization as a whole.

While Amy wears many hats, her balance is impeccable. From overseeing the design team in both Austin and Houston to leading the Healthcare/LifeScience market sector and handling all things marketing, she works her left brain and right brain to ensure McCoy Rockford team members and clients have exactly what they need. Her design background — both her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Purdue University with a focus on interior design and experience at a design architectural firm — and marketing and branding experience from her time in business development have melded to help Amy hit many homeruns. 

And did we mention, one of Amy’s favorite hats is a baseball cap? Whether she’s cheering on the Astros or her 3 sons, you can find her at the baseball field. In general, Amy’s good-natured competitiveness helps drive her and those around her to be their best, and her curiosity for learning anything makes her the go-to team player around the office. 

An avid runner and spinner, Amy not only sets the pace on the trail, but she is a leader in making a difference at McCoy Rockford and shaping clients’ environments. 

Favorite Commercial Furniture Piece: Steelcase Surround Unit. It’s made for the patient environment, because it was designed with the small details and the end in mind – I love that it services a purpose in so many ways in helping the family with comfort and engagement with their loved one and the staff.

Where Do You See McCoy Rockford in Five Years? Definitely growing our footprint in the Texas region. But I also think the definition of commercial interiors will expand, and I think we will be reinventing and developing new services for what our clients need in the built environment.

When it comes to putting lots of different pieces together, Deborah is a go-to person at McCoy Rockford. Her background in marketing and business development with Hewlett-Packard fed her curiosity about technology, and at McCoy Rockford, she’s seamlessly combined her IT interest with her ability to envision and manage the customer experience. The fact that she’s an avid puzzle solver in her downtime helps her see the big picture while managing so many moving parts.

Learning is a cornerstone of Deborah’s philosophy. Not only did she earn an MBA from Cornell, but she sometimes takes math and science classes to keep her skills sharp — when she’s not jogging trails or participating in endurance bike rides. 

At the start of her career with McCoy Rockford, Deborah learned everything she could about what works for customers — even attending installations to learn the process inside and out. She attended Customer Service Coordinator training to fully understand any challenges or roadblocks the customer support team might face. And her curiosity and openness to finding solutions helps empower the team to be service minded in all their interactions. It’s all part of keeping the customer front and center in every process while maintaining a positive, encouraging team environment. 

Favorite Commercial Furniture Piece: The Turnstone Buoy Stool! It bounces and allows you to rock. It’s probably one of my favorites because when my kids were smaller and I would bring them to work, they liked to bounce on the stool. They just thought it was the coolest thing ever. We even have some at home.

Where Do You See McCoy Rockford in Five Years? Technology is really going to drive great customer experience, and a great employee experience. It will give our staff better tools which makes their jobs easier and it enables us to provide the client a better experience.  

Combining many different elements to create a cohesive and appealing finished product is one of Elizabeth’s talents. She uses this skill in many areas, from taking on interesting recipes in the kitchen, to knitting projects, to her career in interior design. When it comes to flooring, Elizabeth has learned all aspects of the business from materials to installation during her career. She uses this knowledge to help clients find the right solutions, no matter what type of facility they’re running. 

Elizabeth entered the flooring side of the industry by chance after serving as an associate principal for a design firm in Austin. While working on the facility side of design, she was approached by a floor covering manufacturer and discovered an interest in the materials and products¬ — she liked that she could stay connected with interior design while becoming an expert in floor covering materials and installations. She has especially loved working on innovative spaces that incorporate fun recycled and sustainable materials. 

Even though she loves to travel, and has visited almost all 50 states, Elizabeth’s favorite place to relax is next to her pool with her dog, Etta. Swimming is one of her favorite pastimes, so you’ll find her doing a few laps at home or perhaps heading to tropical location to get in some sun and waves.  

Favorite Commercial Floor Covering Piece: I like working with carpet tile. Carpet is more playful, more fun.

Where Do You See McCoy Rockford in Five Years? I’d like to see us expanding to other markets, both our current footprint and beyond geographically. And then also, continue to establish ourselves as the top dealer in the state.

Leading the HR function, Rachel is focused on navigating employees on their career adventure. As the Vice President of Employee Experience, she provides strategic human resource leadership to support McCoy Rockford’s growth and success ¬— and helps team members explore their calling. 

Rachel earned a business degree in Human Resource Management from Baylor University and several professional certifications including the Professional Human Resources Certificate from HRCI and Certified Benefits Professional from World at Work. She is passionate about delivering a rewarding employee experience that enables employees to explore new paths. With Rachel as their guide, McCoy Rockford team members can fully engage their talents to deliver outstanding results for individuals and the organization. 

Rachel has over 20 years of HR leadership experience leading HR teams at both small and large organizations in various industries, and has an extensive background developing and supporting a strong company culture of engaged employees. She believes highly engaged employees generate stronger performance and lead to a better experience for the clients of the organization. 

As an avid traveler, Rachel with her husband and two sons loves to visit new places and countries around the world. She also likes to read a good book and stay active enjoying outdoor activities. No matter where the journey takes her, Rachel is focused on helping McCoy Rockford reach its destination of being a top commercial interior products vendor. 

Favorite Commercial Furniture Piece: Any sit-stand desk. When you have one, you stand so much more and when paired with the Safco Kick Balance board it encourages movement throughout the day.
