Challenge
Silicon Labs wanted to create a more open work environment that served a variety of purposes, from focused individual work to high-energy collaboration, with sufficient space for a growing team.
Solution
Individual workspaces were created using the Steelcase Answer Fence, a highly configurable furniture system with a central beam that acts as a power hub. This adaptable product allowed employees to design their own workspaces according to their preferences.
In the center of the building, a multi-purpose space spanning three floors was outfitted to meet a range of needs. Group trainings, company-wide meetings, casual meetups, parties and networking events were all made possible through the use of versatile furniture selections.
Results
McCoy Rockford was contracted to supply the furnishings, which included sourcing products that were specified or suggesting comparable alternatives, finalizing the order and installation. Although the initial phase was finished, Silicon Labs’ facilities manager continues to involve McCoy Rockford as its sole furniture dealer. Depending on scale, the facilities manager engages the team to specify furniture and finishes for a variety of spaces.
