Mark Ballard’s project management journey began hands-on, quite literally. In the mid-1980s, he entered the furniture industry as an office furniture delivery helper in Houston, learning the business from the ground up.

Along the way, Mark invested in himself, taking drafting classes and night school to learn AutoCAD, which led to a designer role and, eventually, project management. Drawn to the creativity required for complex problem solving, he followed his passion by combining technical expertise with the ability to guide projects from concept to completion. Over the years, Mark has built a career defined by growth, leadership and curiosity. He held project and account management roles at multiple furniture dealerships, including more than a decade in leadership positions.

Mark joined McCoy Rockford in 2019 and stepped into the role of vice president of project management in 2023. His focus includes aligning our Houston and Austin teams on shared systems and processes, collaborating with vendor partners, mentoring future leaders and ensuring consistency across markets.

As vice president of project management, Mark is driven by one core belief: Customer satisfaction is everything. He thrives on problem-solving, creative solutions and the ownership that comes with guiding complex projects to successful outcomes on time and within budget. A Procore-certified professional with OSHA 30-hour safety training, Mark brings both experience and discipline to every project. Outside of work, he values time with his kids, finds clarity on long motorcycle rides and stays connected to his love of music. A longtime drummer, he still keeps a drum set at home and encourages his children to explore music as well — a reflection of the same curiosity, balance and passion he brings to his work day in and day out.

What’s your favorite core value?
Doing the right thing is the right thing to do, because I believe this to be true at work and in my personal life outside of the office as well. It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but in the end, it makes for a healthier, happier me.
