HOUSTON — September 7, 2022 — McCoy Rockford is pleased to announce the recent addition of Jimmy Navarro as Vice President of Furniture Sales.

Jimmy Navarro ImageBringing over 20 years of experience in the contract furniture industry, Navarro assumed the helm of the Austin sales team in December. In his new role, he plans to cultivate an environment that values collaboration, balance and equal distribution of work. Maintaining McCoy Rockford’s reputation as one of the best places to work in Austin, he says, plays a significant role in the company’s status as a premier dealer of Steelcase products.

“My long-term goal is to do everything I can to keep McCoy Rockford a premier Steelcase dealership in the country,” he says. “As a sales leader, I know my team can get more done and be more successful when their emotional well-being is always trending up. When team members have the correct balance in their lives, they’re able to form stronger relationships with clients, architecture and design firms and other stakeholders in the industry.”

Navarro’s past work includes selling Steelcase products as a Sales Executive for Tangram Interiors early in his career. Since then, he has held various leadership positions, most recently Director of Account Management for SKG, an Austin-based MillerKnoll dealer. He was drawn to Austin after almost two decades in Southern California because of the growth potential he sees in the technology, healthcare and education verticals.

“We have strong, dedicated, passionate folks in Austin and I think adding Jimmy will make us even better,” said Chris Erdeljac, President of Workplace Furnishings and Architectural Solutions. “I am very happy to have him as part of the McCoy Rockford leadership team, driving our growing sales efforts in the Austin market. His industry background, working in several sales and operational positions, makes him a tremendous asset to our sales team and customers alike.”

Navarro finds consistent inspiration in the challenge of leading his team – especially those at earlier stages in their careers.

“I love the challenge of working with salespeople who are newer to the industry,” he said. “My approach is to show them a path but let them march to the beat of their own drum. Guiding my team and giving the best advice I can – that’s what I love about being in leadership.”

Having spent many years in Huntington Beach, California, Jimmy feels right at home in Austin. He loves the geographic diversity, thriving local restaurant scene and abundance of activities to enjoy with his family. Just as he encourages his team to strive for a healthy balance in their lives, Navarro prioritizes his personal relationships. He enjoys making breakfast for his family every Sunday morning, spending time with his wife and four children and exploring the central Texas region.
